Le Lavoir aux Roses is a 3-star cottage located in the center of the garden village of Chédigny , in Indre-et-Loire, close to the largest castles in the Loire Valley (Chenonceau, Amboise, Loches, Chambord and many others). 'others), passing by the Beauval Zoo , the Futuroscope and some of the most beautiful villages in France .
The gîte is a dwelling present in Chédigny since at least 1806, according to research carried out in the local archives, families of winegrowers and weavers have succeeded one another there.
The village of Chédigny is at the gates of South Touraine , pleasantly placed in the Indrois valley, the river which crosses the town so beautifully flowered.
Chédigny has the distinction of being the first village in France, and still the only one, to be classified as a " Remarkable Garden ".
Classification mainly linked to the many roses planted all along these winding streets, the Rose is the subject of an annual festival welcoming many lovers of the said flower and exhibitors (generally at the end of May).

Very peaceful, the village of Chédigny has a population of just over 550 inhabitants.
It is located 10 kilometers from the A85 (exit n°11 Bléré-Loches), you just have to follow the Departmental Road n°31, direction Loches, to find the signposts "Chédigny".
The gîte "le Lavoir aux Roses" is located at the center of a multitude of activities, ranging from sports activities (leisure center) to the largest castles in the Loire Valley ( Chenonceau , Amboise , Loches , Chambord and many others). 'others), passing by the Beauval Zoo , the Futuroscope and some of the most beautiful villages in France ( Montrésor , Crissay-sur-Manse , Candes-Saint-Martin ).
Shows or artistic events such as the Nuits Solaires , the Scénoféerie de Semblançay, the writers at Gonzague Saint-Bris , the Rose Festival , American Tours Festival , Terres du Son and the Bodin's Grandeur Nature farm are nearby.
In summer, you can enjoy the evenings and weekends animated by the associative café "Chez Jeanne" in the heart of Chédigny, just opposite the access to the gîte (see photos below).
